Walking Day 1

9-25-2019    Lets just say this was one of the hardest hiking days I’ve ever had.   Old and out of shape doesn’t help nor does an overweighted backpack.  Other than wondering if I was actually going to make it to the top of Peon the day was an almost perfect hiking day.  Cool and overcast with just enough sunshine and breeze to keep the temperature from getting to hot.
The Camino from Villaviciosa to the split for the Primitivo and Oviedo is pretty flat but not long after that it starts getting steeper and Steeper plus the trail gets rough and rocky although some parts our covered with rough cement to prevent erosion I think.

The Pilgrim albergue is about 3k off the path but we met a French couple who had called them for a pickup to the albergue so we were eager to catch a ride and they will deliver us back to the same spot tomorrow morning.   No towns or cafes along the route today so hoping tonight pilgrim meal will be good,  I’m starving.  We’re all showered and having a five o’clock beer.   There are only the four of us here for the night.
