We left our nice Casa Rural hotel with no clear idea as to how far we would walk. We knew we would walk the Coast as after today all walking would be to the South West away from the Coast.
The farms seemed to grow in size.
Most of the walk was on country road with little traffic and alas we saw beaches, bluffs, and rocky cliffs.
We decided at a coffee stop that we would walk the complete stage and take Sunday off. So on we walked.
We approached Ribadeo from the North (an option) which gave us great views of the river entrance to this port town.
It was 1km walk across the river bridge (foot walk along freeway). As we approached the town the above structure baffled us. It appears to be a loading system from now ruined bunkers to what? Not enough water for a vessel.
The river is the provincial border between Asturias and Galicia, providence of Santiago de Compostela.
After crossing the bridge the route into town took us up, down, up, up up. We we exhausted when we reached the town square.
We found a hotel an upgraded to a river view, napped for awhile and went for dinner.
Tomorrow is a rest day with a trip to cathedral beach in late afternoon. All is good on the Camino.
