Looking back into the valley.
Early morning light still gaining altitude. Cows, old farms and windmills.
About 3 km into the walk there is an artist that has opened her home to Pilgrims to stay over night or just for coffee so we stopped for a rest break and because we wanted to see her place. Very nice bathroom and shower attached to the main stone s house.
Then we started a series of ups and downs...
Ran into an interesting young man born in Estepona, Spain in 1973. His name is Alberto, he now lives in San Pedro a few miles toward Malaga and owns a jewelry store in that town. He was biking but had to push his bike up the same hill I was struggling with so we chatted for a while. He would have been 6 when we where there with Chez Nous in 1979. Now his son 14 wants to come to the US. We exchanged emails in case he is ever in CA. He says Estepona is now a floral treasure of a town thanks to the mayor of the past 7 years who has planted flowers everywhere.
An example of the many fountains along the way.
Beautiful stonework in some of the house in town.
And finally food and a place to stay for the night.
