Walking Day 8 - Otur to Navia - Short Day

October 3, 2019  After Day 7’s arduous trek we decided to split the next stage in two.  This would essentially add a rest day without having to spent an entire day in one location with little to explore.  We expected morning coffee but were disappointed when the hotel operator said her machine was broken and the nearby restaurant was closed when we had been told it would be open. Such is the life on the Camino and one must take things as they come.

The trek was slow as both of us had our share of aches and pains. The scenery was much the same with some highlights.

A cemetery for the wealthy!

Calf houses?
We found a lovely ***hotel and quickly settled in before walking the river port town of Navia.

As we strolled the town in search of a pilgrims meal (early) we spotted a billboard with an unusual message along with the pricing of the delicious meal we had. When we asked a Spaniard the meaning, there was only laughter. We ask our Spanish speaking friends to translate for us.

 The meal was great.
