Walking Day 12

10-8-2019.  Louenza to Mondonedo
Neither of us sleep well last night.  There was just too much snoring, late night talking, early morning rustling and the pilgrim zipper medley to sleep soundly.  We were almost the last to leave the albergue this morning at 7:45 in the dark.  First time we had to use flash lights to see are way.  At the first turn up the hill it was like a tunnel with high sides stone walls and bushes and only Al’s light ahead of me, very creepy.  Wish I had gotten a picture but it was so steep and seemed to go on forever.  In fact it did continue straight up.  In the first mile this morning we did more than 150 m. I mean who gets out of bed in the morning and hikes almost to the top of Catalina before coffee. Well all the other young fit pilgrims were long gone before we got there.

Oh my another hill.

Good we are going down for a change.  I love these parts.

Al spotted a Bar just off the Camino so it was a nice rest before another ascent.

Beautiful fields  of cabbage and I think rutabaga.  As rain was getting closer we headed down into the valley towards Mondonedo.

Example of a Galician corncrib.

A long walk up through town to the Albergue /Hotel so the residents set out water for thirsty Pilgrims.  We need some time off our feet so it’s a short day to rest up for tomorrow.  We made it in just before the rain started.  It’s still raining up in the mountains.  Looking for clear sky’s tomorrow.
