Walking Day 6. Soto de Luina to Cadavedo

10-01-2019.   I have to say this was the most challenging day so far.  It was beautiful but so many rough trails that were very steep.  A half mile down then a half mile up....over and over again.  We’d go down almost to the ocean then cross a stream and go straight back up.  Lovely ferns, moss, springs, mud, slippery rocks , loose little boulders and dense eucalyptus trees.

A typical Spanish lunch.  Potato torta.  Potatoes butter and eggs baked like a pie.  Very yummy.

Leaving the road agin back on the path.

Just didn’t think I could do two more steep valleys so we opted to follow the road the last few kms into town.
The first place we tried to stay at was full.  We ran into the Belgium couple we had made friends with a few days ago and she offered to call ahead to a private Albergue that we had a flyer for a km further on.    They did have an apartment that they saved for us.  So as we were walking there the owner of the place met us and was driving our other friends from NZ to the grocery store and stopped to pick us up to.   We ended up cooking dinner together and sharing the cute little apartment for the night.   A fun evening together.
